Last summer I attended three on the legendaries Queen (We will Rock You), the Beatles (Let it Be) and Michael Jackson (Thriller Live), four musical dramas; A Chorus Line, The Bodyguard, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Matilda, and the one-of-a-kind Stomp.

Relations between India and Pakistan have always been minefield of mutual recriminations, communal antagonisms and military confrontations. Despite this grim record, the two South Asian nuclear powers have made sporadic progress at the negotiating table whenever both sides demonstrated statesmanship, restraint and perseverance. During bilateral talks, India with a sense of belligerency stresses interdependence and a preponderance of Indian military power in the region. Pakistan is characteristically more interested in emphasizing distinctions, forging external security ties and maintaining countervailing forces against Indian bullying tactics.

  • Machete, a movie review Hassan Ibrahim
    December 2, 2010

If I were to tell you that the movie Machete had a lot of extreme violence in it, you would probably be justified in calling me "Captain Obvious". If I were to tell you that it had a lot of swearing and nudity in it, you might be less sarcastic, but you probably wouldn’t be shocked. Now, if I were to tell you that Machete had an underlying socio-political message, you would probably call me a liar, but you would be wrong.

US Administrations have been blighted since 9/11 by a deadly cocktail of arrogance and ignorance with a twist of the strong desire for revenge. But before you take aim and fire you have to know your enemy, and the scattergun policies of the Bush and now the Obama regimes have served only to create hatred and mistrust against the US in areas where it was never present.
