Canadian Political Action Committee conditionally endorses NDP
For immediate release September 25, 2024
“A vote for the Liberals or Conservatives is a vote wasted.”
As Canadians anticipate an impending federal election, the continuing war on Gaza has made several issues abundantly clear:
1. A Conservative government would do no better than a Liberal one in working effectively to end this brutal war on Gaza, which daily kills children, women, the sick and the elderly;
2. Both Liberals and Conservatives have bowed to the agendas of powerful Zionist political interest groups;
3. Both Liberals and Conservatives have demonstrated immoral attitudes in their policies toward Palestinian human rights:
● they have failed to condemn blatant acts of terrorism by the Israeli army and illegal Israeli settlers;
● they have not demanded that Israel immediately cease its genocidal war against indigenous Palestinian natives in occupied Gaza and the West Bank;
● they have done nothing in stopping the flow of arms to Israel.
Therefore, as concerned Canadians from diverse backgrounds, occupations, ages and locations across this great country,
1. We urgently call on Canada to reclaim its traditional and respected role on the world stage as peace-maker and peace-keeper:
2. We call on Jagmeet Singh and the NDP to:
● unequivocally support Palestinian self-determination;
● work effectively to end the supply of arms to Israel;
● publicly and unconditionally recognize the State of Palestine;
● declare the occupation of Gaza and the West Bank illegal;
● pursue the US to end its partnership with Israel in this war of aggression against Palestine, regardless of the US presidential election results in November.
3. We call on all fellow Canadians to vote for the party most likely to achieve peace for Palestine. We strongly believe that a vote for Liberals or Conservatives in the next federal election is a vote wasted. Canada deserves better.
