Canadian Islamic Congress urges voting Canadians to "do your homework" for April 28 Election
As the Federal Election approaches, the Canadian Islamic Congress calls on Canadians to “do their homework” on local candidates, regardless of their party, and in ridings where there is no clear choice, to vote NDP.
“There are two important issues to be addressed in this federal election: Canada’s stand on the continuing genocide in Gaza and President Trump's declaration of war on Canada,” said CIC founding president Dr. Mohamed Elmasry.
“Canada’s compromised position regarding the ongoing Gaza genocide is a threat to our national morals and is eroding our national identity,” he continued, “while Mr. Trump’s aggressive policies have become a threat to Canadians’ economic well-being.”
“We are living in challenging times,” he added. “We could even lose our independence.”
Dr. Elmasry recommended that Canada should switch from trading with the US to trading with China, not the European Union.
He also said that Canada should look to Malaysia—whose population is similar to ours - as an economic role model for its thriving automotive, microchip, and energy exploration industries.
