Who Can Stand?

Judith Miller

A poem by Judith Miller

who can stand

against the wrath

of the wronged?

who can bring healing

into dark places?

who can weave

new form

from the finest thread?

only the spirit of making

will brave the places of danger

will look into darkness

wide-eyed

and will not turn away.

only the spirit of making

will gather the strands of being

into new patterns

that are waiting for form.
