After interviewing seniors in the Waterloo region, over the last three years, University of Waterloo School of Planning professor John Lewis said their major concern is the affordability of some recreational programs, followed by housing and housing affordability.
It is big. It stars Kevin Spacey who also directed it. Additionally, it is the first film produced by Netflix, which is itself a huge deal, and is available instantly at its site for free streaming.
There is a new documentary movie about Israel, called The Gatekeepers. It is directed by Dror Moreh, and features interviews with all the former leaders of the Shin Bet, the country's internal security organization. The Shin Bet is assigned the job of preventing Palestinian retaliatory attacks on Israel and, as described by Moreh, the film "is the story of Israel's occupation of the Palestinian territories as told by the people at the crossroads of some of the most crucial moments in the security history of the country." Along the way it touches on such particular topics as targeted assassinations, the use of torture, and "collateral damage."
In this shortish response to those in the comment space of my own web site and others including Veterans Today who criticised, ridiculed and condemned me for what I wrote in my last two posts (WANTED - A psychiatric diagnosis of Nazi holocaust denial, which was a follow-up to Understanding the real significance TODAY of the Nazi holocaust), I quote from a very long and in-depth interview with Samuel Crowell, the author of what some regard as the definitive books which make the case for Nazi holocaust revisionism.
Dr. Melanie Campbell, a professor in the University of Waterloo's Department of Physics and Astronomy and the School of Optometry and Vision Science, and a team of researchers, are developing a tool that will allow for early detection of Alzheimer's disease.
While I was reading some of the responses on various web sites to my last post (Understanding the real significance TODAY of the Nazi holocaust), the following question occurred to me. Does it really matter HOW Jews were exterminated in Nazi concentration camps? Even if you chose to believe that gas chambers were not part and parcel of the Nazi extermination programme, there is irrefutable evidence that Jews were shot, hanged, burned, injected and starved to death and, also, that many died from diseases that were only terminal because of the conditions of their incarceration.
It is not easy being a teen these days, nor to be the parent of a teen. Parents cannot compare what being a teen was like when they were teenagers. A big difference is the incredible impact that the social media have today. Another factor is the massive growth in the available amount of knowledge, courtesy of Google. The world of today's young people is not our world, and we cannot understand how they experience it. As Kahlil Gibran put it, "You may house their bodies but not their souls. For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow, which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams."
Edward C. Corrigan - One of the favourite tactics of supporters of Israel and Zionism is to accuse their opponents of 'anti-Semitism'. This argument is advanced in an attempt to prevent criticism of Israel from being presented, or to attack the individual or group that is defending Palestinian human rights.
