In the area of social justice including reducing poverty (currently at 40%) and unemployment (currently some 4 million are unemployed and a new one million is seeking employment every year) my proposed plan for Egypt's next president based on studying the experiences of 6 developing countries (China, India, Malaysia, Turkey, Brazil and South Africa) is to rely firstly on encouraging the co-op sector by offering loans with very low interest, massive training to do feasibility studies, sales and marketing, and training the trainers.

I did spend more than 10 years doing research on designing microchips – called artificial neural networks (ANN) - which mimic how the human brain processes information. I published research papers on the subject and in 1994, I published my book Artificial Neural Networks Engineering. It was a fascinating subject and those research years were most enjoyable.

Julia Roberts' 2010 movie "Eat, Pray, Love" gave Indonesia's Bali beaches and the island town of Ubud a high ranking among the world's most popular competing tourist destinations. The movie was based on Elizabeth Gilbert's 2006 best-selling memoir about Ubud where she spent time seeking traditional spirituality that leads to love. The island of Bali (population 3.2 million) had 2.5 million visitors in the same year of 2010, more than any other year despite the terrorist bombings of 2002 and 2005.

Approximately 100 kms southwest of Cairo sits the Fayoum area. It is a vast depression within the Western desert, averaging some 50 meters below sea level, about 18,000 square kilometers in area. It was formed 190 - 136 million years ago and over the years turned into a green paradise by the Nile's underground water.

Many Egyptians last Saturday firmly believe so following the sentencing of their 84-year old ex-president Hosni Mubarak and his Interior Minister Habib el-Adly to life in prison and the acquittals of Mubarak's two sons and six top police officers.

(Cairo) Egyptians, those who voted for him and those who didn't, had hoped that Mohamed Morsi would lead their country on the road towards democracy, economical development and social justice ('ash, horia, 'adalah egteemia); the three objectives of their revolution. Egyptians never expected miracles but they were right to expect from Morsi short and long term plans, a road map with milestones, and an accountability mechanism for their elected president to deliver.

I am one among millions of Egyptians who are deeply concerned about the country's new constitution as it does not represent the vast majority of us; farmers, journalists, judges, lawyers, the Church, women groups, and opposition parties because representatives of these groups did withdraw from the drafting committee in protest of the marginalization of their views by the committee.
